Rust Premium Servers Update: Enhanced Player Experience
Today at 19:00 UTC, Rust is launching Premium Servers, a new initiative aimed at enhancing the gaming experience by filtering out cheat users. This experimental feature requires players to have a Rust Steam inventory valued at $15 or more to access these servers.
Access Requirements
To join Premium Servers, players must have a Rust Steam inventory worth at least $15. This valuation includes items from the Permanent Item Store, such as building skins and décor packs, as well as other tradable Rust items. Note that standalone DLCs like Instruments and Sunburn are currently excluded from this valuation, though this may change in the future.
Server Details
- Premium Servers are visible only if your account meets the $15 threshold.
- They feature a clickable Premium Tag for eligibility details.
- This system adds an extra layer of friction against disposable cheat accounts.
- Server owners can enable Premium Servers with the convar: "server.premium 1".
- The $15 threshold may be adjusted over time, with potential additional factors for premium status.
- New purchases may take up to 20 minutes to reflect on Premium Server authorization.
- Premium status can be manually refreshed in server listings.
- Premium status displays on your avatar in the menu.
Abuse or exploitation of Premium Servers or the market will result in account bans. All Rust skin trades are logged.
Connecting to Premium Servers
Newly wiped official premium servers are going live today at 19:00 UTC. Connect via the official server list or directly from the main menu by opening the console (F1) and typing "connect" followed by the IP or endpoint, such as "connect eupremium.rustopia.gg".
