Radtown Returns

The iconic Radtown from legacy Rust makes a triumphant return in the World Update 2.0. This beloved monument has been transformed from its original blocky garage buildings into a refreshed gameplay space. The update preserves the original proportions and purpose of each location while introducing new paths and improving movement flow and cover.

Cliffs Overhaul

All cliffs in Rust have been completely reworked, introducing two types: tall coastal cliffs near the ocean and sloped inland cliffs on hills and mountains. These cliffs are designed to look realistic and be easy to traverse. Inland cliffs are easily navigable, while coastal cliffs can be scaled by jumping on rocky ledges.

New coastal rocks near the shore add further detail to the world.

Revamped Rock Formations

Large rock formations have been revamped, bringing back fan favorites like the god rock, anvil rock, and arch rock. New formations have also been added, some spawning offshore, providing more base-building opportunities.

Unique Environments

Rust now features various canyons, lakes, and oases in each procedurally generated map, offering new gameplay dynamics.

Canyons

Canyons provide narrow pathways for ambushes and strategic base-building. While rich in resources, they pose risks due to their steep drops.

Lakes

Lakes offer opportunities for fishing, resource gathering, and farming. However, the open water leaves players vulnerable to attacks.

Oases

Oases are lush areas ideal for setting up bases and gathering resources, but they attract competition from other players.

Rivers and Water System

Rivers are now longer and flow more naturally, requiring a larger water system overhaul to support different water types at any altitude. The ocean is culled underneath the terrain, and lakes no longer stretch beyond their boundaries.

High Caliber Revolver

The new High Caliber Revolver is a hand-crafted, single-action revolver using 5.56 ammo. It is designed for precise, long-range shots, requiring a steady hand for maximum accuracy. Unlockable at a Tier 2 workbench, it prioritizes accuracy and impact over speed.

Legacy Wood Pile

Wood piles return to Rust, spawning in snow and temperate biomes. They function like traditional ore piles but for wood, providing a great source of wood early in the game.

Dive Sites and DPV

Ocean Wreck Buoys

Buoys have replaced old floating bottle indicators, making dive sites more visible.

Dive Sites

New dive sites offer unique environment art and topology, each spawning six crates of loot.

Flora and Fauna

Underwater foliage and fish visuals have been updated for a more natural look.

Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV)

The DPV is a new handheld dive vehicle that speeds up underwater travel. It can be crafted, deployed in water, and fueled with low-grade fuel.

Water Well Update

Water wells now feature a new vendor offering teas and farming equipment, and a food cache with basic teas and high-quality food items. Planters with random plants are also available.

Radioactive Water

Radioactive Water is a new feature available at Radtown, with properties that can kill plants, irradiate players, and damage those carrying it in large amounts. It opens up new gameplay possibilities.

Frontiersman Pack

The Frontiersman Pack is now available in Rust's permanent store, featuring a Frontier Hazmat Suit, Frontier Hatchet, and Blunderbuss. These items offer no in-game bonuses but add a unique aesthetic.

Quality of Life Changes

The Spray Can now remembers the shipping container color through deaths and restarts.

Note World Model

A Note World Model has been added.

Underwater visibility has been improved for enhanced long-distance sight.
