Monument Blockers

In the latest Rust update, Monument Blockers have been introduced to monuments with red keycard puzzle rooms. These blockers are designed to slow down early access to loot, requiring significant damage to destroy. Once destroyed, they won't respawn. Some weaker blockers can be destroyed by melee attacks. If not destroyed within the first 24 hours, they will start to decay.

Upkeep Group Scaling

The update also introduces a new upkeep tax system for Tool Cupboards, based on the number of players in a base. The tax is tiered: no tax for the first 4 players, a 2% tax per player for the next 6 players, and a 4% tax per player thereafter, with a maximum tax of 300%. This aims to balance gameplay for large groups without penalizing smaller groups or solo players.

HQM Node and Collectable

High quality metal ore nodes and collectables are now available across the island, with a higher chance of finding them in the Jungle.

Marketplace Power

The Drone marketplace now requires power from the Power Plant system to operate. The marketplace's power level increases with active fuses in the Power Plant. Purchases can be made once the battery reaches 50%, and it will not decrease as long as at least one fuse is inserted.

Medical Honey Bandage

A new healing item, the Medical Honey Bandage, is available at Workbench Level 1. It offers a new use for honey reserves, sitting between the regular Bandage and Medical Syringe in effectiveness.

Attack Heli/HAB Conditional Armour

The Attack Helicopter's cockpit armour now falls off in stages as it takes damage, exposing the pilot and gunner. The armoured HABs also have conditional armour with varying health points for each panel.

Modular Car Handling Improvements

Modular cars have received handling improvements, including better steering and suspension. A handbrake mechanic has been added, allowing for tighter turns and drifting.

Radwater Sprinkler Buff

Radwater used in Sprinklers has been buffed to penetrate more armour types, causing significant radiation to those with lower protection gear.

SAM Site Buffed vs. Drones

SAM sites now more effectively destroy hostile drones, with faster missiles and a larger detonation fuse area.

Notable Changes

Several balance changes have been made:

  • Heavy Plate Helmet: Suppresses noise, increased crafting costs.
  • Heavy Plate Armour: Audible movement noise.
  • Swamp Trees: Increased wood harvest.
  • Semi-Pistol: Increased damage falloff and crafting cost.
  • Pies: Extended durations and adjusted recipes.
  • Grenades: Reduced stack sizes.
