Rust Halloween 2026 Update: Monsters, Portals, and Skins
Halloween Event
The yearly Halloween event is now enabled in Rust, bringing a host of spooky activities and rewards. Once every two in-game days, the Candy Hunt event kicks off, giving players 3 minutes to collect as much candy as possible. The top 3 players receive special loot bags containing items ranging from scrap to an M249. Even if you don't place in the top 3, collected candies can be upgraded for better loot. This event runs until November 5th.
Here Be Monsters
Put those body parts to good use by building your own monster! Defeat scarecrows and mummies to collect a head, torso, and legs. Craft a Frankenstein's table to assemble your creation. Once awakened, your monster will follow and defend you. Use "P" to control it, or adjust your controls if needed.
The Rift is Open
Mysterious portals have appeared across the island, possibly due to cultists or a Cobalt experiment gone wrong. Few have dared to enter these rifts and returned. Server owners can adjust portal numbers using the halloweendungeon.population convar.
Halloween Skins
This Halloween, explore a spooky collection of limited skins. Discover wallpapers like Cultist Tile, Manor Ceiling, and Derelict Wood, as well as a Skull Wall Lamp skin and an inflatable Alien Costume. A Spooky Decor Bundle is also available, featuring exclusive items like Halloween Wreath and String Lights.
Discord x Rust - Zombie Wumpus Plush
From October 22nd to November 5th, Nitro subscribers can claim the exclusive Zombie Wumpus item in the Rust Game Shop on Discord. This plush provides 70% comfort and can be placed anywhere in your base.
Spooky Store Update
Dracula Mask & Cape
The Dracula mask offers early-game head protection and requires cloth to craft. The cape provides superior protection and can be found on undead corpses.
Wooden Stake
This stake releases the souls of undead creatures and yields extra loot. Find it on undead corpses.
Hockey Facemask
A creepy mask reskin of the Metal Facemask.
Cultist Deer Torch
A reskin of the starter torch, dropped by cultists.
Baseball Bat
A reskin of the mace melee weapon, perfect for zombie encounters.
