Rust Armed and Animated Update: New Weapons and Features

T1 Handmade SMG
This month, Rust introduces new weapons, starting with the Handmade SMG. Unlockable near the end of the T1 tech tree, this weapon fills a gap in the arsenal. While it may lack accuracy and raw damage, it compensates with a high rate of fire, allowing players to unleash a hail of bullets. Skilled players can use it strategically to remain competitive, timing attacks and positioning themselves for surprise bursts against better-equipped foes.

SKS
The SKS is another addition, unlockable at the start of the T3 tech tree. It bridges the gap between the SAR and the M39, offering a balance of punchy damage and accuracy. This mid-tier rifle is ideal for players seeking a reliable weapon with solid range and stopping power. The SKS delivers a balanced performance that seasoned survivors will appreciate.

Improved Wolf AI
Rust's AI overhaul begins with the wolf. Previously, wolves acted like landmines, posing a frustrating challenge. The update reshapes wolves into a fairer, more engaging threat. Players are encouraged to experiment with new behaviors, as the wolf's AI now offers multiple ways to tackle encounters.

Quality of Life Changes
- IO Arrows: New arrows show input/outputs on IO deployables.
- Floating Objects: Corpses, Boogie Boards, and Boats now float down rivers.
- CCTV Voices: Hear player voices over CCTV.
- Disable Monument CCTV: Damage cameras to disable them for 5 minutes.
- Copy Paste IDs: Easily get player IDs in the F7 menu.
- Water Well Vendors: All Water Wells now have killable vendors.
Gesture Pack DLC
Rust introduces its first gesture pack, available on the permanent item store. The pack includes 8 new gestures, such as Rock Paper Scissors, Loser, Knuckle Crack, and more. Players can assign these gestures to the gesture wheel for easy access.

Rock Paper Scissors
This gesture pack includes a mini-game of Rock Paper Scissors, allowing players to settle disputes in a fun way. Players select the gesture from the wheel and wait for an opponent to start the game. The game involves choosing rock, paper, or scissors within a time limit to determine the winner.

Gesture Wheel Customisation
To support the new gestures, Rust has added gesture wheel customization. Players can now assign gestures to slots on the wheel via the Options > Gestures menu, allowing for easier access to a wider range of gestures.

Radioactive Water Buff
The Radioactive Water feature has been buffed. Radiation from sprinklers has increased by 70%, and from splashes by 40%, making it a more effective counter against full kits.

Mixing Table Improvements
Quality of life improvements have been made to the mixing table. Players can now click recipes to add ingredients to the inventory, stack ingredients for multiple items, and see greyed-out recipe names for unaffordable items. Performance and memory improvements have also been implemented.
Anticheat Update
Since July, Rust has applied over 91,676 bans, including 19,398 temporary bans. The update provides transparency on bans and reports, with plans to roll out server-side player culling and collaborate with third parties to tackle cheat-related content.
Copy Paste Tool
The new Copy Paste tool allows server admins to copy, paste, and save bases, streamlining testing and bug reporting processes. More information is available on the Rust wiki.

Impact on Players and Server Owners
This update brings a range of new content and improvements for both players and server owners. Players can enjoy new weapons, enhanced AI, and interactive gestures, enriching the gameplay experience.
